Lily has officially graduated from her bassinet to her crib. For the last week Lily has continually slept through the night 8- 81/2 hrs. each night. She is also getting so long she doesn't really fit in the bassinet anymore. So today I decided it was time to move her to her crib. So we started with her naps today and she has done fine. I don't think that she will have any problems with sleeping there tonight. My little girl
is growing up so fast.
When we went in for Lily's 2 month appointment the doctor told me I should try putting her down to sleep while she is awake. Well Corey and I tried this at about 5 weeks and Lily would cry and cry until after a half hour of screaming we would go get her. So I would rock her until her eye lids started to droop and then go lay her down with her pacifier. Well I decided after talking to the doctor to give it another try. So starting on Friday Feb. 13 after her appointment at nap time I would wrap her and lay her down for her naps wide awake and with out a pacifier. She has been going down like that for the last week. She will fuss for about 1-5 minutes and then go to sleep. She is using the pacifier only in public or at night if she is crabby. My goal is to have it completely gone by 6 months. She is doing great on the sleep and I hope it continues. In fact the last 2 nights she has sleep for 8 straight hours. Keep it up baby girl.
This weekend we headed down to Boise to see our friends. We had a very busy but great weekend. We took Lily on her first plane ride Saturday morning and she did a great job. We spent most of Saturday just hanging out at Bob and Erin's house. Then that night we all went over to Katie and Seth's house. Bob and Erin, Katie and Seth, and Nick and Nicole were all there. Katie made a really yummy mexican casserole. However, Lily did not like the casserole and refused to nurse all that night and into the next morning. I was worried about her and I was starting to be very engorged and uncomfortable.
Sunday morning we got up and went to our old church. After church we made a trip to Target to by a pump. After church Lily started eating again. That afternoon Erin and Katie through me a baby shower. It was great to show Lily off to my old co-worker and friends. Then that night Bob, Erin, Katie, Seth and us all went to dinner at Cool Hand Lukes steak house.
Monday we headed into Nampa and spent the day at Matt and Leslies' house. This was a very relaxing day and Lily needed a some what normal day. Then that night we all headed over to Nick and Nicole's house for dinner.
On Tuesday we got up and met grandma Nancy for breakfast in nampa. We then went to both of our old schools to show Lily off. Corey's old custodian, who Corey has stayed in contact with met us for lunch. We then headed back to Bob and Erin's house to pack and get ready to leave. This was hard day for Lily because we were on the move all day. She was in and out of her car seat and wasn't getting good naps. She was so tired and hungry that she wouldn't eat. So I finally pumped and gave her, her first bottle. She did good on the plane ride home but refused to eat again. So at my mom's house i pumped again and gave her another bottle.
Today we just stayed home and got back on our routine. She has slept and eat great. She has been very happy and smily today.
Today I took Lily in for her 2 month doctors appointment. She got a good report. She now weighs 11 pounds (65%), her height is 23 1/2 inches (95%), head circumference 38 1/2 cm (50%). The doctor said that she looks great. We are going to work on spreading her feeding out to 2 1/2 hours again and putting her to bed awake with out a pacifier or rocking.
She got her first shots and of course I cried. Lily started to do her I am going to scream with out breathing and turn purple cry. I hate when she does that. Since I got her calmed down she has had great rest of the day. She has slept and nursed normal and has been happy during awake time.
We are getting ready for our trip to Boise tomorrow. Hopefully she is a good flier.
Lily is 2 months old today. She is growing so fast.

Lily and I have had very busy week. On Saturday we spent the day over at Jacob and Erika's house playing with Emily. The on Sunday we headed out to my mom's house to celebrate my grandpa Lloyd's 89th birthday. On Tuesday we went out to my mom's school so that she could show Lily off to her students and facalty. Then on Wednesday we went to Corey's school for lunch like we do every Wednesday and then we went to my school for my shower. We got alot of great things including alot of diapers. Today we went back to my school for my students Valentines day party. They love to see Lily and they wanted to know if I still remembered their names. We are headed out tonight to watch Corey's basketball game. Lily loves the lights and the action going on in the gym. Tomorrow we are going in for her 2 month doctors appointment. She will have to get her first shots. We will see how well I handle that. Then on Saturday we leave for our trip to Boise.
I can't beileve that my baby is already 8 weeks old. She is growing and changing so fast. Her eating is going good again and she is just becoming more and more aware of the things and people around her. On Wednesday Corey's staff through us a book shower. We got a lot of great books for Lily and the staff chipped in and got us a $70 gift card to Barnes and Noble. I read to Lily everyday and am excited to share the new books with her. She also got a few cute outfits including a Gonzaga cheerleading outfit that she can wear next basketball season. She also got this adorable stuffed puppy that was bigger than her.
Last night I put Lily down for bed at 10:30 after her last feeding. Usually she wakes up around 3:00am for another feeding, but last night she slept straight tell 5:30. I started to hear her moving around about 5:00 and layed there until she started to cry. Then of course after she eat (which is going better again) she was wide awake and wanted to play. So we played on the floor for awhile and then I read her a couple of stories until she started getting sleepy again and she was back in bed around 6:30. And so was I. Hope fully this wasn't just a 1 time night. She is 7 1/2 weeks and can now start sleeping through the night.
The Super Bowl is one of Corey's favorite days. For the last 5 years we have hosted a party at our place. This year was a little smaller with Corey, Lily and myself, along with my mom, my sister Erika, My brother in law Jacob, and their daughter Emily, also our friends Eric and Laura and their little one Alee. It was fun but we were all bummed that the Cardinals lost. Another football season is over and now baseball is just around the corner. Corey can't wait.
