Today Corey and I had a staff retreat at our principal's house from 12-5. So we took Lily to daycare for the first time. Besides Karina's kids Lily was the only one there. She was great when we left no crying or fussing. I then called during our break and she said that Lily cried for about 30 minutes straight then would stop and then cry again. She wouldn't go to sleep and Karina had just gotten her to sleep when I called. I have a feeling they didn't just go lay Lily down for her nap and let her cry and whine for a couple minutes and then she puts herself to sleep. I know it is hard for people to hear her cry but that is the way she has learned to sleep and that is the way I want things done. It is so hard because although I know she will get good care no one can care for her like me. She will go a couple of hours tomorrow and then Monday thru Thursday next week. Then after Labor day we start school and my full days with her are over. I am just going to have to learn to trust and let go.

Learning to crawl...
For about the last 3 weeks Lily has been trying to crawl. She would first get up on her knees and then lunge forward. Sometimes she would move one knee then fall and roll. We learned that we had to have the floor picked up because she could make her way to any thing she wanted, including the laundry. She is still working on the crawling. She can do a couple moves with her legs and then she lunges forward or rolls. Then yesterday I sat her on the floor with her toys and left the room to get something. When I came back she had moved across the room and was sitting up. So now she can go from laying to sitting on her own. Today when I went to get her up from her nap there she was sitting up in her crib. My little girl will be 8 months on Wednesday and she is changing so much. She is still the happy baby that sleeps, eats, and plays with very little crying. Corey and I are so blessed. She is also the cutest, sweetest and most adorable child in the world!!!

Visit from Auntie Carrie and Uncle Rob
Corey's sister Carrie, her husband Rob and their two kids Xander and Kasen came and spent a week with us. We had a great time at the lake. Even though the boys were scared of the water. Carrie got some relaxing time floating and Rob got to play golf a couple of times. It was a gorgeous and relaxing week. We also got the opportunity to celebrate Xander's 4th birthday. He loves cars and so we went to Hot Rod cafe for a late lunch/ early dinner and then we took him to the car races here in Post Falls. We really enjoyed there visit and look forward to having them out again in a few years.
